Ingredients
- ½ cup moong dal (yellow lentils)
- ½ cup basmati rice
- 1 medium carrot, diced
- ½ cup peas
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- ½ tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp ghee
- 2.5 cups water
- Salt to taste (minimal for toddlers)
Instructions
- 1Wash rice and dal together until water runs clear.
- 2Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds and let splutter.
- 3Add vegetables and sauté for 2 minutes.
- 4Add rice, dal, turmeric, and water. Mix well.
- 5Pressure cook for 3–4 whistles until soft.
- 6Mash slightly for younger children. Serve warm.
